What visitors say
We found a good mix on Tanagers, including Crimson-backed, Golden-headed, Palm and Blue-grey, and we even managed to find 2 familiar migratory species: a Yellow Warbler and Baltimore Oriole.
Amazingly we also saw critically endangered Great Green Macaws (stunning!) and the large Black Oropendola as well as lots more.
The first bird we encountered, only 30 metres into the trail, was a beautiful, large Spectacled Owl perched in perfect view not far off the trail.
And then we started the three-hour drive south toward the Darién Province.
