What visitors say
I had heard much about the famous elephant gatherings at Minneriya—a congregation of wild Asian elephants that can sometimes number in the hundreds during the dry season.
A Brahminy kite and water buffaloes Our driver drove further on the bank of the reservoir and we could finally see some birds.
In addition to the elephants, we also spotted a few monkey species and eagles.
Finally we heard that there had been some elephant sightings!
