What visitors say
We saw ringed kingfishers, pink dolphins, blue macaws, red macaws, white-throated toucans, three-toed sloths, squirrel monkeys, green ibis, reddish egret, wattled Jacanas, black nun birds, Amazon kingfish, yellow cacique, puffbirds, black collared hawks, white-tailed trojans, and crimson topaz hummingbirds.
On a night tour, we had better luck seeing animals, using spotlights to see sloths, snakes, and caimans (gator / crocodile-like reptiles).
We saw giant ants, heard some monkeys, smelled the path of a well fed snail, encountered birds and butterflies.
A rather smiley three-toed sloth – we spotted this one on the drive to the lodge One day we spotted both the endangered Amazon River Dolphins (also known as the Pink River Dolphin or Boto) and the Grey River Dolphins (Tucuxi).
