Subspecies pilcomayensis, thamnophiloides, and tucumanus intergrade in northern Argentina and are sometimes considered a separate species. Subspecies pilcomayensis and cirratus intergrade in eastern Paraguay. Subspecies confusus and macconnelli may also form a distinct species. The white-barred piculet... Wikipedia →
