The glossy ibis was first documented in the New World in 1817 (New Jersey). Audubon saw the species just once in Florida in 1832. It expanded its range substantially northwards in the 1940s and to the west in the 1980s. This species is migratory; most European birds winter in Africa, and in North America... Wikipedia →

Under 5% of wildlife watchers report a Glossy Ibis sighting in Bhopal on a given day, based on 15 verified sightings from GBIF citizen-science data. It is the 150th most-seen of the 197 birds we can rate there. Over three days the chance rises to about 10%, if each day is a fresh chance.
Any time of year
In every month with enough records, under 5% of wildlife watchers report a Glossy Ibis in Bhopal on a given day, so our monthly data shows no clear season.

GBIF citizen-science records
It is estimated from how often the Glossy Ibis is recorded against all the birds logged in Bhopal (15 verified sightings), calibrated against known sighting rates. Figures are rounded to the nearest 10% because citizen-science data supports honest approximations, not decimals, and months with records from fewer than five people show "—". How it works.
